gotham has once again found itself in lingering darkness, now having turned against their masked saviour following the death of harvey dent. though there are a few who know the truth of what happened that day, the batman insisted that the people be lead to believe he was responsible, not wanting to throw them into a panic upon learning that their white knight was deeply and truly evil after losing someone he loved. the police are out there every night, hoping for signs of the masked vigilante who continues to keep his watch over gotham city. and despite his gut feeling that the entire thing is wrong, commissioner jim gordon knows that to discourage their efforts would make people ask a lot of questions. questions he doesn't want to answer. and now the darkness is looming once more. while the police are supposed to be the ones cleaning up the streets, they are easily bribed by the criminal families of gotham city into turning a blind eye. and a recent breakout at arkham asylum has ensured that several of the more dangerous inmates are now running free with average citizens. if ever there was a time to swallow your pride and let the batman return, it would be now. but the people of gotham are too proud to let such a thing happen, and batman hasn't been seen for many weeks now. has he finally hung up the cape? or has he walked out on gotham all together? ***************************************** set loosely after the dark knight, there are plenty of characters open for grabs and plots to be created. while the plot says that harvey is dead, it could be negotiated that he did not actually die after the events in the building, and can thus be revived. but to do so would require permission from staff, so if you have an interest in him please pm the administration account.
